I hate technology. It's like this blog was never meant to be updated. About a week ago I sat down and wrote a very long update detailing everything I've been neglecting to write about since August, and when I hit preview, the internet decided to eat it. So now, I'm going to attempt to do it again (only probably not quite as long and drawn out). It's been a while, and there's a lot I haven't written about since my last real update, but at this point this is really just for my own personal records. I don't know/care whether anyone actually still reads this, but I'm going to write anyway, and especially now that I'm in a good mood and in the holiday spirit. So here goes.
September
The month pretty much came and went for me. I adjusted to school, met some cool people, discovered the beauty of the Mira Costa breakfast burrito, and did some other stuff. My 18th birthday was on the last day of the month. It was without a doubt my worst birthday yet. No one even sang for me, which isn't that big a deal, but it's at least tradition. No matter. As always I got some stuff out of it. My computer is repaired and all it's modifications have been made with the new parts and such. I also got a gameboy advance sp, which means I've started playing pokemon again, and I am in no way ashamed of that.
October
On the first day of the month I went up to DLR with Ben, and we met Stephanie Shay and one of her friends from school there. Stephanie works at DL, so she got us some hookups, like Fastpass line priveleges without fastpasses. I hadn't ever really talked to Stephanie before then, I had memories of her being kinda weird/creepy, and while being both of those, she was also very nice. So the day went by well, no akward or creepy vibes or anything. That day was opening of Haunted Mansion Holiday (featuring characters from Nightmare Before Christmas), so that was a lot of fun.
Sometime in mid october we had the Vegas trip. The Bussett's were planning on following Kyle to see him perform with RBV at the Vegas BOA tourney, and I (along with Derek, Steve, and Ben) accompanied them. The tourney sounded like fun, but I was really hoping for another chance to see Blue Man group, and luckily that ended up happening (if any Bussetts are reading this, thanks again for allowing that to happen). The show was the friday in which we left, and it was a little crazy trying to get there in time. We did, and we saw the show, and it was great. Everyone seemed like they enjoyed themselves. Ben starting coughing due to laughter, and Derek laughed like a silly little girl during the finale. The finale is very immersive (literally). Sadly, the Blue Man Group eluded me again after the concert, so once again I missed my chance at a picture. Don't ask how, the details are too depressing. To make up for it, I bought an insanely overpriced BMG jacket during a fit of rage mixed with dissapointment. Despite what anyone will try and tell me, I am happy with what I did. I pretty much went through the motions on the saturday, seeing as the band tournament thing was fun, but it wasn't my main draw to the trip. The next day (sunday) we drove home in the morning. I drove home with ben in his truck instead of with everyone else. Everyone stopped at stateline on the way home so we could eat and ride the rollercoaster (Ben and I rode twice). We saw items fly from other people and later recovered them. The drive home was a little crazy/dangerous, but fun. A good weekend overall.
Halloween came at the end of the month, and Laura and I drove up to Hollywood in the afternoon and saw The Nightmare Before Christmas on a giant screen at the El Capitan theatre in downtown. We got the downtwon Hollywood around an hour or so before showtime, so we got a snack and walked around downtown and explored the Kodak Theatre complex and Chinese Theatre area for a while. The movie experience itself was awesome. Before the movie there was an organ player playing classic spooky/villain themed music in Halloween spirit, and ended with his redition of "What's This?" from the movie. We had awesome seats and free soda and popcorn because we bought VIP tickets. They were only $21. A good deal also considering that there was a movie museum set up in the theatre's basement after the movie, and among other things used in the movie, they had on display the actualy graveyard set (the one with the swirly hill) they used in the movie. Seeing the movie on a large screen was incredible. I would definately go back again next year and reccomend it to anyone who is a fan of the movie. I probably will if I can, but most likely not the day of Halloween. We had a really nice night together.
November (I'm nearly caught up I swear)
So now we're into this month. I am finally working now. I started on the 13th of the month, and I work at Edwards theatres. It's been a bit of a task getting used to having a difficult schedule (they are a bit spontaneous when it comes to work schedules), but its fine. I've been working every day each of my weekends, which I'm ok with right now. I get free movie passes, and that's a plus. I'm also finally active again. It's a very physical job, and I haven't been active since the end of my senior marching season (that was a year ago). I'm far too fat. Hopefully that will change.
Today was Thanksgiving. I had work scheduled from 11 to 7, but because of the opening of Kirkorian and that other theater in escondido, it wasn't nearly as busy as they predicted, and they let me off at 4. I called me mom and she said my dad and sisters were at edwards seeing polar express, so I found their theatre and joined them for the rest of the movie. Then I got all of us in to Spongebob Squarepants for free right after. The movie was genius. And the phrase "knucklehead mcspazzatron" is now a permanent part of my vocabulary. GO SEE SPONGEBOB. But yeah, went home and had dinner with the family afterwards. Today went well.
I suppose I should give thanks to some stuff. Hmm...
- I give thanks to my good friends, without which, I'd be a loner (well, more of a loner). Lists of people are bad because its so easy to leave out people, but you all know who you are. Yes neal, even you.
- I'd like to thank the In-n-out corporation for not franchising, and thereby still providing me with the best burgers on the planet.
- Thanks to Edwards for giving me a job.
- Thank you to the staffs of miceage.com, mouseplanet.com, albinoblacksheep.com, homestarrunner.com, illwillpress.com, westcoaster.net, screamscape.com, ebaumsworld.com, and every other site out there for devoting so much of your lives to making the internet a more interesting place.
- I'm going to thank Laura because she means so much to me.
- To everything else that's awesome, including (but not limited to): the Disneyland Resort, the creators of the pokemon video games, AM/PM, funnel cake, warm blankets, and harry potter and the prisoner of azkaban on dvd, I give thanks to you as well.

OK. I'm finished. Seriously. I'll try and keep this thing updated more often. I haven't done anything for the site for a while. I still haven't finished the Jiggly project. I'm just in a slump right now. Eventually I'll finish Jiggly, redesign the site (again), and do the third and final Captain Hampton cartoon, but I'm not sure when. I'd like to bring out my old Girshnelda material and do something with it eventually. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Have a nice holiday or holiday season. I'm going to bed.
