Update of Sorts

For no particular reason, the other night I decided to go through every single blog post I've written here since 2002. While I don't advise anyone doing the same (I used to write a lot worse than I currently do,) It was fun to remember specific days during high school that I, for some reason, felt compelled to document. It's been a while since I've done a post like that, so here's some random stuff that's happened as of late.

-Went to see Blast! with some friends (Ben, Vince, Amy, Drippy, Todd & Heather). Fun night out; got all dressed up, hung out at a mall, ate at Claim Jumper, watched the show at the Orange County PAC, and hung out and ate donuts at Ben's afterwards.

-Went to Ryan's house on a Saturday night to find him and his cousin Vince modding out nerf guns. I bought a cheap gun and joined in the the action. With his parents out of town, we completely destroyed their home, building barricades and having an all out nerf war (complete with techno music.)

-Went laser tagging with a group of 15ish people at a laser tag place in San Diego, and hung out with Vince and Drippy at their house afterwards and crashed there.

-Hung out at Vince's house with him and Ben on another night, and got the cops called on us by his crazy neighbor for playing mario kart and eating donuts. I think the police officer was disappointed that there was no party to break up.

-Went gambling at Valley View with Ben, Vince and Ryan. We did it for the free meal (which was huge and delicious,) but somehow they still got money out of me via slots, so I ended up being about even.

I've been very stressed recently, so every chance to get out has been a good one. I am slightly overwhelmed by school and the Narnia promotion, and I am not liking being sick, but luckily some things are slowly getting resolved in my personal life, and I think there is also a Disneyland trip on the horizon (if everyone is well,) so all is not lost.

We Are Such A Mens

Vince and Laura both had this pic posted on their myspace photo galleries. It was taken in October, when we went to see Nightmare Before Christmas 3D at the Irvine Spectrum. It was actually taken in front of the mens room, though I've cropped out the men's room in the background. Not sure why I felt like posting this; really, just because I love these guys.

Reflection...(?)

I was browsing Itunes today when I found a cover of "Reflection" (the song from Mulan) sung by Michael Crawford. If you've ever heard the song, you'll know the lyrics are about Mulan trying to meet her expectations as a wife and daughter. The lyrics had all been re-written; even the main chorus ("Who is the girl/man I see...)

Needless to say, it was a bit jarring. Don't ask why I was searching for Mulan on Itunes.

Wind's Nocturne

This song has been on my mind for the past few days. The lyrics are really beautiful- each line speaks to me. I wish I could write something this lovely.

The world will tell you that if you want something, you should go out and get it. Some will tell you that faith and hope is what will help us survive. Surely, there must be a fine line to walk. Is there some force that can answer all of our wishes? God, maybe? Or simply just a shooting star? What if our prayers aren't answered? Well, maybe they are, and we just aren't noticing the answers to our prayers right in front of our eyes. Regardless, we should keep searching for what will fill the emptiness, while still clinging on to hope that the shooting star will come.

Keep moving forward, I guess.
