Hi.
Well, looks like I'm once again broadcasting LIVE from the Mira Costa library! Ok, today is the 5th consecutive day that I've had the song "So Long and Thanks for All the Fish!" stuck in my head. The song is the theme song to the new Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy movie. A bunch of us at edwards made it a point to memorize this song (since we hear it multiple times throughout the day when the movie lets out), and now that I know most of the lyrics, it's become even more infectious. Of course, the fact that I've seen it twice since friday (and that I'm going to see it a third time today after school, and a 4th if Jessica is sick and can't come today, and possibly a 5th if anyone of my other friends like Pohl wants to come with me) probably isn't helping. "So long and thanks for all the fish! So sad that it should come to this! We tried to warn you all but, oh dear... You may not share our intellect, which may explain your disrespect, for all the natural wonders that grow around you... SO LONG SO LONG and thanks....for all the fish!"
Oh yeah, what did I think of this movie? Well, isn't it obvious?

I should also add this, for anyone interesting in the multiple new additions coming to Disneyland's Tomorrowland within the next three years:
"The real reason that the Imagineers are reportedly looking into bringing back the PeopleMover is that -- what with all of the new Tomorrowland shows that have either already been built (I.E. "Buzz Lightyear Astro Blaster"), have yet to be officially announced (I.E. Space Mountain's new night-time only soundtrack, "Rockit Mountain"), are still in the process of being constructed (I.E. The new "Finding Nemo" version of the Subs) and/or are moving rather swiftly through WDI's developmental process (I.E. "Star Tours II" and the "Cars" -based retheming of Disneyland's Autopia) ... Well, the Imagineers are anticipating that by 2008, Disneyland 's Tomorrowland is going to have some very serious traffic problems. With most of the park's guests trying to cram their way into this very small portion of Disneyland in order to sample all of the new rides & shows.
So -- obviously -- some people-eating attraction have to be quickly added to this side of the theme park so that Disneyland can then better handle all of these additional bodies. So among the ideas that are currently being kicked around is -- yes -- bringing the PeopleMover back on line. As well as removing the Astro Orbitor from its current position at the entrance to Tomorrowland (to make it easier for guests to get into this part of the park) and then placing this ride on top of the PM's old loading station.
Mind you, this isn't the only idea that WDI currently has in the works. I think all you Douglas Adams fans out there will be pleased to hear that -- should the movie version of "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" prove to be a hit (More importantly, inspire a sequel or two) -- that the Imagineers would then like to replace "Honey, I Shrunk the Audience" with a brand new "Hitchhikers" inspired 3D movie.
Now I would imagine that even Marvin the paranoid android couldn't be depressed about news like that ..."

Why never any real updates?
Well, thats because last time I reformatted my computer (about 9 months ago), all my programs were erased, and I was too lazy to reinstall the FTP program. Isn't that hilarious? I thought so. So no updates for you. But don't worry, that'll all change this summer. I hope.

Stuff 'n Stuff
Well I'm in the Mira Costa library right now, I just wrote a philosophy paper and I'm trying to figure out how to waste more time in between classes, so I think I'll write about stuff. It's been, what, a month since last time I wrote? I've been ignoring everything it seems. Like I'm never online anymore. I spent a lot of time during spring break trying to talk to people and catch up. This semester is going by much faster than last, and before I know it I find myself behind in everything. Other stuff happened over spring break too. It was a good break.
I took Laura to Knott's Berry Farm on Monday, and we spent the day riding rollercoasters. I was not feeling completely well that day as I was at the tail end of the second flu I've had in a month's time. I was coughing up a good amount of blood all day, but I got through the day. Still had a great time. Rode two new coasters since my last visit: Xcelerator and Silver Bullet. I practically dragged Laura on Xcelerator as she did not want to ride, but she was the one to declare first that we had to ride it again after the first time. It has a crazy layout. It launches from 0 to 80 in two seconds, up a 200 foot horseshoe type structure, and plunges down a VERTICAL drop. Craziness. Silver Bullet was a standard inverted coaster. Nothing too crazy about it, but it was lots of fun. Laura also really liked Ghostride (her first time on it). I think that's still my favorite one there.
Doctor visit one of the days during spring break, can't remember which one.
Disneyland on thursday with Ben, Brillo and Travis. I drove. They pestered me the whole time. We almost died. Standard stuff. We met Stephanie there, so everyone else but me got into the park for free. Lines Disneyland were pretty long, but surprisngly all the lines at DCA were very long. Didn't get to ride Tower or Soarin', so we stayed at Disneyland for most of the day. We were also pirates. We had swords and everything. Stephanie left at around 3. We all got to go on the new Buzz Lightyear ride, which is awesome. Much better than Florida's version. Best thing about it is you can ride it over and over, because you get laser guns and it keeps score. It's like a moving video game. Of course, we watched Fantasmic twice that evening. Travis had never seen it, and he liked it. We al took turns watching our spot for 3 hours, riding stuff in between. At one point, Ben and Brillo were guarding the spot while Travis and I rode The Adventures of Winnie the Pooh twice in a row. So yeah, watched Fantasmic twice, went to In n Out afterwards. Normal stuff. Fun as usual.
I got to see Ring Two over break also. I've got lots of thoughts about that, so I'll save them for another update.
Looks like I've effectively done my job of wasting time between classes, as I've got to end this now and get to history. I'll write again soon.

Time to catch up, again...
Things just come up and I get all excited about it and then before long I find that I'm like a year behind on this thing and trying to catch up. Ok maybe it's not that bad, but pretty close.
Last week I "drove" up to Hollywood with my sisters to see Chicago. It took about an hour to get up to around Anaheim, and from there on it took 2 hours to get to Hollywood, traffic was very bad, so it was very good that I left at 3:30 for the 8pm show. We ate at a pizza place on Hollywood boulevard which was awesome and then saw the show at the pantages theatre, which is where we saw Lion King during the rose parade trip. While there were quite a few lines that were word for word in the movie, the play was very different, and much more comical. I shouldn't ruin it for anyone who wants to see it someday, but I'll just say that "things aren't what they appear to be".
On saturday I drove to Disneyland because RBV was there, and if you're someone who read this normally, you already know that and I don't have to tell you. I woke up way early and was in the park by opening, which was at 8. It rained all the way up and was a little hard to drive, but ok. RBV's schedule said their arrival would be at 9, so after waiting around in main street for hafd an hour (in the rain), I called up Derek to see how far the buses were, when he said that RBV hadn't even left school yet. I decided to ride everything in the park because of my abundance of free time, which I did, and then I still ended up waiting in main street for another hour and a half, while reading lemony snicket and playing kingdom hearts, until rbv people showed up at 11 (by that time it had stopped raining). Great organizational skills they have, I swear.
I hung out with Laura, Therese (sp?) and Paul for most of the day. Rode Indy, Big Thunder, Mansion, Pirates, had lunch (Laura and Therese at New Orleans Square, Paul and I at Pizza Port), rode Star Tours, Matterhorn, played in Toon Town, and rode Peter Pan. That took us to 4, where the three of them went to the Small World Bazaar to wait for band people and change and etc., and I finally had a chance to to over to DCA for a while. All I had time for was the Aladdin show, but that was alright because I hadn't seen it in a while, and it was probably the best performance I've ever seen them do. Crowd response was the largest I'd ever seen. Then I went back to watch them march, and saw Cade and Tina along side the street so I stopped and talked to them and sat with them as the parade went by.
After the parade (at about 6:15) I grabbed my backpack out of my locker and headed straight to the Fantasmic seating area to save a spot for the 9pm show. I had a big blanket in my backpack so I could spread it out for Laura and whoever she decided to show up with at 8:30. Cade and Tina found me, and they put a blue tarp down next to my blanket (I think it was a poncho, but it was huge), to help me save more space, and they kept my company which was good. Somewhere in there, Ben Neal and Derek showed up and joined us, and then Laura and Paul showed up at 8:30. The show was great, except for the absence of the mark twain at the end, but the replacement scene was not quite as horrible as I thought it would be.
After the show, pretty much everyone left. Band people needed to go because their bus curfue was almost up, and everyone else was tired so they went home too. The only person who stayed was Ben, which I'm greatful for, because I didn't have to feel weird sticking around for the second fantasmic showing by myself. We moved our blanket up to the very front as soon as the first show was done, and seats were perfect. The second time around it was almost like "Fantasmic w/ Ben & Chewy Audio Commentary". We sat there and analyzed the show, and it was still just as spectular seeing a 2nd time in a row. One of these nights this year when they do three showings, I gotta go, that way I can watch all three. ahh. It'd be amazing.
We were both pretty tired (and hungry) by then, so we left soon after the show and went to the In n Out in tustin to get food, and we talked about stuff and it was good times. Half of our conversation consisted of either one of us repeating "heh...that was a great day". Then I drove home. I had to put in Blue Man Group and turn the volume up really high to stay awake, because I was super tired by then. When I got home, I got to experience the wonderfully amazing feeling of collapsing into bed after a long tiring day of anything and falling straight to sleep, without a care in the world. Yeah, you all know the feeling.
That's pretty much all that needs coverin'. Man, I need to take more saturdays off. It's good for my sanity I think. I know I won't do it, or not for a while at least, but it's a nice though. Maybe if the Aquabats come back to town. Or maybe I'll just take another trip to DL. This weekend is going to be a 4 day weekend, and I'll almost certainly be working all four days. Ahh crap. That reminds me. I was at the movies today, Laura and I went to see Hitch (a very funny movie, funniest I've seen Will Smith in a while). I forgot to check my freaking scheudle. DAG NABBIT. Oh well. Maybe I'll call right now. Yeah that's what I'll do. Well that puts an abrupt halt to this already very long entry. See you later.

Seriously... do I really need to say anything?
NUMCHUCK SKILLZ... COMPUTER HACKING SKILLZ... BAG PUPPET SKILLZ...
These guys are just pure awesome. My right eye may look a bit swollen (I'm not sure why either), but the puppets... way cool. Laura made these for me. She's awesome. I don't have that kind of creativity. Anyway, been wanting to put this up for a while.
Life is life. Now into the new semester, I'm taking more units now, meaning less time. But then I'm also working less, because Jan/Feb is the time of year when no one has money for movies because it's after the holidays, and most of the movies out are crappy anyway.
I'm definitely NOT going to mention the day I spent at Disneyland with Lona about 2 weeks ago, nor am I going to mention how much fun it was. SOMEONE thinks that it's a good idea to spam my guestbook with messages about how theyre the center of the universe and how writing about her.. er i mean, that person should be the central focus of this website, even though I hardly update this site anymore anyway.
With that said, I spent a day with Lona at disneyland about 2 weeks ago, right before she went back to college, and I had a great time.
I'm going to Hollywood with my sisters this coming tuesday to see Chicago the Musical. Looking forward to that. We got cheap seats because thats all my sisters and I can really afford, but it's at the Pantages theatre and last time I was there, I'm pretty sure I had the worse seat in the house. It was the rose parade trip, we were seeing the Lion King. We were seated on the floor, but I was in the very back row, the far left seat. So I was in the back corner of pretty much the whole auditorium, but I still had a very good view of the show, so I'm not worried. Wayne Brady (from "whose line it is anyways") is going to be playing Billy Flynn, and that should be a lot of fun. I guess I'll write about that after it happens.
I'm planning to build a tube instrument, similar to the Blue Man instruments. It's kind of surprising how many sites there are out there dedicated to home made tube instruments. I've got a few designs in mind, but it will most likely end up being the easiest and cheapest one possible. I need to see if I can actually make one that works before I think about making one that works awesomely and looks amazing. Anyone whose interested in helping, let me know. Looks like already I've got a quite a few projects to keep me busy over the summer (aside from working), with that and the website stuff that I'll hopefully be doing. But until then, I've got school and work to eat up my time and sanity.

So I was in the back corner of pretty much the whole auditorium, but I still had a very good view of the show, so I'm not worried. Wayne Brady (from "whose line it is anyways") is going to be playing Billy Flynn, and that should be a lot of fun. I guess I'll write about that after it happens.
I'm planning to build a tube instrument, similar to the Blue Man instruments. It's kind of surprising how many sites there are out there dedicated to home made tube instruments. I've got a few designs in mind, but it will most likely end up being the easiest and cheapest one possible. I need to see if I can actually make one that works before I think about making one that works awesomely and looks amazing. Anyone whose interested in helping, let me know. Looks like already I've got a quite a few projects to keep me busy over the summer (aside from working), with that and the website stuff that I'll hopefully be doing. But until then, I've got school and work to eat up my time and sanity.
Is anyone out there still reading this? I'm just curious. This is really mostly for my own benefit, but if anyone actually is still following, leave a message in my guestbook or something, just so I know you're alive.

Interesting tidbit in today's disney news, WDI is putting out proposals for an Incredibles themed ride at California Adventure, set to open in 2008. The ride would be a 3d simulator type experience, making use of "robocoaster" technology. It sounds similar to the spider man ride at Universal Orlando, but I'm not sure this specific type of ride technology has been used in a major theme park attraction before. Could be very interesting.

Happy Christmas. Merry New Year. Or Something.
(AKA chewie's lame excuses for never updating the site)
Well the holidays came and went. I feel like a slacker for updating this blog so little now a days. I really shouldn't be doing these huge akward updates where I cover months of happenings at a time, but the reality is that I've been busier in the last few months than I really ever have. I'm lucky to have such a long vacation at Mira Costa, because before holiday break came, I went a month and a half without having any days off from school or work. So when I do get a chance to do whatever I want, updating this seems trivial compared to the other things I could be doing in my precious free time. That's just the way things work. Any serious changes to the site are going to have to be planned out, so don't get your hopes up for new content for at least a couple more months (provided anyone out there is still actually reading this blog). I have been giving it some thought, though. I'd definately like to redesign the site again. I want to make it a lot more simplified, and now that I actually have some form of reliable income (and a credit card) I'd like to get my own server space and domain (probably fravit.net). I've been thinking about doing it for a while and now it seems more realistic, as my parents were never thrilled about paying for something like that. I've also got multiple miscellaneous flash projects that have for one reason or another been left unfinished, such as my republish of Girshnelda (with fixed audio), the tower of terror simulation, and my (still) unnamed Jiggly Baby cartoon (the one I one first place for at the Del Mar fair last year, even though it was incomplete.) However, all my plans need to happen all at once, and I need to set aside time to do it. We'll see how it ends up going. I'm in no hurry to get it done, but I also don't want to completely forget about it all.
With that, here's a brief recap of my holiday season.
I took Laura to Disneyland on Dec 20th. We got there at park opening just in case there was a crowd problem, but there wasn't, so we got all the rides we wanted to do done by 4ish. We ended up wandering the Disney Gallery for a while (always worthwhile, its above Pirates, stop in if you've never done so), and we spent a significant amount of time lounging around in the Main St. Cinema watching mickey cartoons, which was really relaxing. At 6 we got a spot for Fantasmic and waited 3 hours for the show. I always love that show. Afterwards they had their sappy holiday firework show, which features fake snow, and the audio cut out right in the middle of "white christmas". It was a lot of fun. A very fun and relaxing day.
Derek had his Christmas party in there somewhere, though I can't remember. I went there from after work and was only there for a few hours, but I got to see a lot of people I used to see all the time but haven't in (what seems like) a while. Glad that worked out.
I had to work on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, but only until 7:30 each day. On Christmas Eve I went out to dinner with my family after work at Black Angus and it was good. On Christmas I dropped off presents at John and Lona's houses before work (feeling very much like Santa). Work was the worst day I've had at Edwards so far. I've never seen so many people in a building. I had no idea so many people went to the movies on Christmas, but that's obviously because I never have. After work I went to my grandma's, where my family was. I ate, talked to some people I've missed, saw some people I haven't missed, and opened presents. I really only asked for one gift this year, which was an Ipod (that was on backorder and wasn't on time for christmas), so when I opened presents there wasn't a whole lot. Between relatives I got one hundred dollars worth of fry's gift certificates, a couple dvds, and some clothes. My sisters got a gamecube and a bunch of video games, and to tell the truth I am actually enjoying it more than they are.
However cheesy it may sound, I really do love giving during the holidays. Everything I bought as gifts, everyone seemed to like, and that always makes me feel good. It makes getting gifts that much better.
New Years was somewhat uneventful, until an hour before midnight. All night I was looking for someone to hang out with and everyone seemed busy or asleep. Eventually I found Scott and Ted. I hadn't seem Scott in too long, and I was glad to see him. We all counted down at Scott's house, and then went to In n Out for our first meal of 2005.
The night after, they met me at edwards after I was done with work so we could hang out. We were going to see a movie, but had a couple hours to kill, so in short, we acted like complete idiots. First we went to get burgers, and then we "went for a drive". It all started when scott decided it would be a good idea to drive on the sidewalk... then it all went down hill from there. To make a long story short, we drove over baseball fields, made friends with a street cleaner, almost died like 3 times, ran (literally) from the police, drove over countless cement planters, led an expedition to Questhaven, and probably did a bunch of other stuff that someone is going to remind me of later and I'll be like "OHH YEAAHH! HAHAHA I REMEMBER THAT!". Then we went to see Lemony Snicket, which was like my 4th viewing of it.
I only have a week and a half of vacation left, and then I get to go back to never having any days off. I'm also taking more classes. I need to get some sleep, but it's 1:22 am right now and I've having trouble feeling tired. At the moment I am currently overwhelmed with feelings of frustration, so I'll probably stay up for a couple more hours, maybe reading a lemony snicket book. Whatever ends up happening, it's time for me to wrap this up. Ill try not to go so long without at least blogging. I'd like to get back into the habit. Anyway. Yeah. Night night,
