Back from WDW. I'm so very tired right now, and I haven't been on my computer in a week so my fingers are going "whoa, what the freakmo is this thing..."
Twas a fun trip. I am completely devoid of all energy, but that's just fine with me. I figured I wouldn't be going back there in a long time, so I pretty much beat myself into submission over the course of the week. I'm not getting into the trip right now, but I am going to write a trip report as soon as I find some energy. C-ya.

Well this weekend is officially over, and in 5 hours from now I'll be waking up and then leaving for disneyworld (yes, 4am wakeup call). Ok, here's how my weekend went down:
-----
Friday: half day of school, so i had an extended friday evening. i ate lunch with neal and kyle at the taco bell, then we went and got ted and went down to derek's "plantation" (they have a very wealthy family) in escondido to practice a few Christmas tunes in a brass choir. Afterwards, ted came over for a little bit so i could show him the progress on "lobsters" and listen to the homestar runner cd. ted went home, i went out with neal, kristin and laura. neal was having car problems so we picked them up late. we had to drive around in his little red bug that made loud noises and was all jerky... i sang the space mountain theme song because i thought it was appropriate. everyone else didnt...
we ate at toms burgers. i haven't the slightest idea why. afterwards, we went to my house and watched minority report. im not sure if laura or kristin enjoyed the movie very much, but i think they enjoyed themselves in general. took them home, drove around for a little while with neal. then went home.
~
Saturday: i woke i late, so i didnt have a chance to go christmas shopping like id hoped. i went over to dereks at 3, warmed up a bit, and then went out brass caroling with brass choir. the families loved the surprise. went back to dereks at around 4:30 for his christmas party. a lot of old band alumni showed up. it was great to talk to such people. brillo came down from davis and brought his girlfriend. she is a very nice/pretty girl and they seem very happy. im happy for them. everyone talked around the bonfire for a while, ate for a while, talked in the jacuzi for a while, and then talked in the living room for a while. my kinda party- no energy required. went home at 2 am. fun stuff.
~
Sunday: again, crapped out on christmas shopping. no negative consequences though. i went down to the house o' hawley at 1 for jonathans christmas party. there were more than just bandgeeks there, so that was neat. i saw mary austin, an old friend i hadn't seen or talked to in a while. that was a pleasant surprise. the party itself was very fun. we played a very exhuberant game of cranium, and afterwards i spent most of the time talking with people. laura and kristin were there, so we somehow managed to work out another movie night for after the party. got together with neal. we were going to go eat pizza. somehow...we ended up at a strange mcdonalds... in oceanside...that had gamecubes in it. again...i haven't the slightest idea how we ended up there. we drover around oceanside...i started ranting and raving about disneyland socialism and the corruption in the annual passholder system...i kinda freaked out at one point...scaring everyone....not my proudest moment. we went to my house, watched pirates of the carribbean. they enjoyed it more than minority report i believe. we also watched the "Potter Puppet Pals", some online flash cartoons, very funny. ill put the links at the bottom. took them home after that, then i went to 7-11 with neal proceeding our usualy random drive around town. i went into 7-11 wearing no shoes. dont ask. i left 7-11 covered in cherry slurpee. dont ask.
~
TODAY: ok then...well im leaving tomorrow so even though today wasn't the weekend, i can get rid of every last lurking detail. today was weird day. i finally did my christmas shopping. first i took my dad to the bank, which was conveniently located next the the mall, providing all sorts of traffic mayhem. i was stressed and hungry, so i went to in n out as soon as my dad was finished at the bank. i saw scott there, it was nice, i havent talked to him much recently so it was a cool surprise. he was very busy thogh, there were for some reason hordes of customers. more than id ever seen there at one time. i ate my 3 x 3 and fries, became instantly tired, but continued my day to fry's electronics. bought my sisters video games for christmas. they always like that. i went to sav-on and bought 6 disposable cameras for my trip. i went home, wrapped presents, and then realized i needed a present for my mom. i ended up at target, and saw neal and kyle there. and tanya shannon. and catherine circo. ::weirded out:: anyway. bought her a cd. went back home. we ate some pizza and then had our pseudo-christmas morning and opened presents. it was fun. later, i had two very pleasant phone conversations. one was from lona, calling from disneyworld. it was really cool. she had a fun trip. shes going home when im leaving home. funny how that works. the other conversation was with laura. if you want to know how that conversation went, ask me.
-----
I think that covers just about everything. I've got everything packed, I've got a clear head, I'm ready to go. I'll be adding a trip report to my "random stuff" section of the site when I return. Fravit Monk over and out.

Something I found at one of my geeky disney sites the other day- as you may know, Disney is constructing The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror ride at California Adventure, the same ride from Disney-MGM studios in Florida. This version will have a few changes, inside and out, and a columnist from Mouseinfo.com put together a flash presentation of what the on ride experience would be like, based on info from imagineering. If you don't want to spoil the surprise, dont click this link.
DCA Tower of Terror Preview
Site news: Still working on Lobsters From Space. This is a really fun project, I think you'll enjoy it. You might even have a cameo too ;)
Life news: in the middle of a stuff filled weekend. I'll write about it when it's over.

Tonight my mom randomly decided that she wanted to go to the movies (randomly fleeing this house has been a common trend as of late), so I went with my mom and sister to see Haunted Mansion. I pretty much agreed with the critics POV towards the movie; a nice movie, but nothing all too special. Visually, the film was amazing. I spent half the movie freaking out as they wandered the mansion, because of the MANY visual references to the ride (me being the disney geek that I am). Certain hallways, room, portraits, and such are recognizable even to those who aren't that familiar with the ride but have been on it. There were also the details that only tards like me would appreciate, and I was greatful for such detail. Things from both the Disneyland and Walt Disney World versions of the ride were present, and even the design of the exterior looked as if they took the two building and smashed them together.
My main problem with the movie was in the story. Looks like the screenwriters didn't do enough of their homework. The story centers around a bride and groom who eventually die in horrible ways, as does the ride's story, but that's about all it has in common. The backstory is really much darker than what was shown in the movie. They've also reduced Madame Leota from a jealous gypsie and mistress out seeking revenge on the world, to a comic relief who is trotted around like an 8-ball, who occasionally throws out a witty comment that not only breaks the mood of the scene, but isn't funny. If you'd like to know the REAL story behind the ride, check this page out: http://doombuggies.com/myths.htm
And I'm out...

Vista Parade today. Something a heard from a spectator:
"Wow, Vista and RBV... they're marching and not fighting"
Very amusing indeed.
After the parade, Ted and the Capn' came over... interesting time. Soundboarding is now our new favorite hobby. Ask me if you'd like to know. Afterwards, went to Tanya Shannon's bday party at roundtable... just like old days at roundtable, minus the upperclassmen. More interesting times, but all in all, it was good fun.

Went to see The Last Samurai with laura and kristin and neal tonight. A pretty swell movie if you ask me. Better than I expected, it being a samurai movie starring tom cruise and all. Tomorrow is the vista holiday parade, first time we're combining bands with vista high. I think its a social experiment. Kinda like survivor, or big brother. But not paradise hotel...

Thanks to those who have already voted in my poll. To those who haven't noticed. There's a poll on the left bar of this page. I will change it in a month or so.
My thanksgiving break:
FRI: saw "Cat in the Hat" with neal at the new theatre in town. Nice theatre, bad movie.
SAT: SCSBOA Championships. RBV came in 5th. I'm not dissapointed a bit. Only that El Dorado didn't win. Had a nice bus ride there and back. I've had some interesting ones this season.
SUN: "Trebuchet Underground" meeting numba 2. Launched pumkpins and 7-ups at the end of melrose. The cops didn't show up this time. Visit http://siege.bussett.com for club info. Then went out to pizza with the Bussett's, and then saw Elf with neal, kyle, and this other guy Chris.
MON: hang out with paul, brytni, and jimmy at the barnes's house. Taught paul flash mx and watched matrix reloaded. Fun stuff. TACOS!
TUE: bought ham for thanksgiving... ham adventures... in escondido....yeah. Twas my sister's birthday. Ate at the olive garden, then went to fry's. My sister bought a Sony Clie palm pilot thingy. Nice color and stuff. I bought her X2 on dvd. We watched it.
WED: Fun day. 3rd "Trebuchet Underground" meeting at a park in San Marcos. Very large turnout, largest yet. The club is catching on. I hope next meeting is just as successful. Everyone launched pumpkins. Later on, went to eat chinese with neal, laura, and kristin, then proceeded to drive around aimlessly for 2 hours before seeing Scary Movie 3. It was "Laugh out loud funny!". Drove around a bit after dropping off Laura and Kristin. Talking is good for the soul.
THU: Thanksgiving. Ate at my grandparents' house. Help my grandpa out with computer stuff and his new digital camera. He has just recently become aware of the wonders of the internet and technology and all that. I came home and went online (as I do everynight) and worked on my intro to fravit net which carried over to...
FRI: ...where I stayed up til 3 to finish the dang thing. I had to watch it at least 20 times (I kid you not), and almost had a seizure. I then reopened fravit network, went to bed, woke up, and did some stuff. That evening I went to pep band. Could've sounded better, but the game was thrown together last second, so whatever. Afterwards, drove around with neal. I've been doing that a lot lately (again, talking is good for the soul)Ted came along for the ride as well. I think he had fun. After we dropped him off we drove around a little bit, talked about stuff.
SAT: did hw... and ate...and washed my car. Saw Master and Commander in the evening with Scott. Was going to go with martin but he didnt save a seat.
SUN: applied for college... good times. Vaccuumed my car out also. Went around town and got some job applications (for Krikorian and Edwards theatres).
Another chapter of my humdrum life now properly documented. Have a nice evening.

WELCOME TO FRAVIT NET 3.0! It has been at least a month, I'm sure. Not much has changed around the site, although you'll notice that things have gotten a bit... prettier (?) around the fravit network. I hadn't done a full blown site upgrade in a while, and I figured I had probably gotten better at site designing than I was when I made 2.0 two and a half years ago. Anyway...yeah, made a snazzy new intro (the old one had been around since version 1.0), gave it a paint job, threw in some tunes... and version 3.0 is now a go. Now lets cover some of them "livejournal" type issues (a bit abridged, I've been gone a while):
3 band tournaments since scripps ranch. Vista, Arcadia, SCSBOA Champions. Won at vista (breaking an ages old curse and making history), came in 2nd (3rd) at Arcadia, and placed 5th overall at Championships. I favored El Dorado to take championships, but everyone performed well. Marching season is over. Forever (senior). I'll miss it. Seen quite a bit of movies lately, including Matrix Revolutions, Cat in Hat, Elf, and Scary Movie 3. My quick takes: good, somewhat of a dissapointment (but not without its moments), funny, and VERY funny (respectively). Life is somewhat normalish. Somewhat. Always have my share of "adventures" (ask if you'd like to know).
Have my next two flash cartoons in mind. Already started working on both. Stay tuned...
OK. I believe that's the kinda stuff I'd usually talk about in an update (absolutely nothing of importance). Enjoy the site, I think I might actually start updating more now that marching season is over...
Fravit Monk over and out.

I'm currently in the middle of a huge site redesign. I'm using a color sceme I don't believe I've ever used before, and some new flash effects. The odd thing is, you won't read this until after it's done, because the site is blocked off to the public. This is just a test message to make sure the new template works. The irony...

Another victory for the RBV B&P! We took sweetstakes in Auxillary and Band on saturday at the Scripps Ranch Rising Star Invitiational field tournament. Fun stuff. Our only competition, Mt Carmel High, took the remaining sweepstakes for Music, and I congratulate them, they had a great performance. Dag nabbit... we still can't quite get our hands on a music award. Guess it's something we have to work on. To eveyone in the band, especially my section, remember...

The Etiwanda "Artistry in Motion" tournament took place last night. RBV came out on top, recieving awards for high visual and high general effect, and taking sweepstakes for Auxillary (pageantry) and Percussion. The band overall took the Grand Champion award. To the band, great job! To my section...

Hi all. It's "pretend-the-news-blogger-is-a-live-journal" time! I just got back from the movies, saw "School of Rock", and all I can really say is "School of Rock" rocks. Go see it asap. I'm planning on seeing it like 4 more times, so anyone who wants to see it, let me know, we can go together. In other news, band has officially took over every aspect of my life again. Went to the Kennedy tournament, saw some of our competition, and all I can really say is that I'm excited for our first tournament. Let's just hope the rest of the band is as eager to take on the competition as I am. I've been a little blah-ish lately, I think the brain worms are starting to win the fight over my sanity again, as they sometimes do, so excitement will be good mentally, I hope...

Sorry for the 3 day delay on the cartoon. I wasn't really thinking too hard when I switched my multimedia hardrive into another computer to show my new cartoon, when the menu with the link to the new cartoon I was suppose to upload at 5 on Saturday was still on there. I guess I was jsut too distracted by the party. Anywayz.... the cartoon is finished! The "world premiere" at my house went well. I think everyone enjoyed the cartoon (even those who hadn't seen the ring), despite the occasional sound problems. I may go back and change a few things, so don't be surprised if I publish a "THE AD 2.0" sometime soon. Mkay, thats all for now. Fravit Monk over and out.

"The Ad" is finished. The cartoon will go live at 5 pm on Saturday, Sept. 20th. Make sure to check it out, sign the guestbook, tell me what you think.

Yes, the rumors are true. 2-day, August 23, 2003, is the 1 year aniversary of Captain Hampton and the Midget Pirates! A year ago from today, it was the last day of bandcamp, and it was at the band party at Scott Gemmel's house that night where I first showed Captain Hampton to the world! Although yesterday was the last day of this year's bandcamp, today is the official calendar date. HAPPY B-DAY CAP'N!

First off my apoligies. The new toon should be online today. I wanted to get it done on wednesday to show at the party but when I actually did get the voice acting done it was kinda late. Rarr. Now I'm having a few minor problems involving audio and some of the web effects. Not to worry, I will have it cleared up soon. I'm still tweaking things, and I want to make sure it is the best it can be before I show it to anyone.

I added this bar above that plays music. Not a big thing but I've finally figured out how to let blogger let me do it, so I did. Right now it's playing the acoustic version of "Crazy" by Seal. I'll change the music every so often, when I feel like it anyway. I still don't have the voice acting done for "The Ad", as soon as I can get that I'll have it finished within days.
Saturday, June 28, 2003
My next flash movie, "The Ad", is nearing completion. I predict Ill be done with it in about a week or so. I'm going to vegas for a few days this coming week, so I won't be able to work on it, but it'll be done soon. I need to find some people who can do a small amount of voice acting. The cartoon will be a very short parody of a movie that came out last year. Can't wait for everyone to see it.

Blah Blah Blah...
Finals, SAT's, other crap, i haven't been paying much attention to this site. Or my flash movies. When vacation starts, I'll have some time. For right now, I'll leave
you with this last thought:
"Don't fake the funk on a nasty dog."

I am planning to publish an animated documentary Ted and I have created for the History Day competition. It is called "Censoring Entertainment". Didn't win, got honorable mention at the competion, but a lot of work went into it and I don't want it to go to waste. It will take me some time to convert it into a web-friendly file before I can put it online, but look for that soon. As for "Ivan", I'm giving up on that for now. I have too many ideas for other cartoons when I don't even have ideas for this one. Maybe after the summer. Maybe.

I randomly was looking through my old fravit stuff folder when i stumbled upon a link to an old message board from a few years ago that used to be on the site. I thought for sure that the EZBoard company would've shut them down, but they were still there, intact. So I've decided to post some of the more crazy and humorous threads and conversations from those 8th and 9th grade days. They can be found under the "stuff" section of the menu.

The other day i found this program called game maker 4. I was playing around with it and realized that i could use it to turn "Pac Captain" from the Capn Hampton movie into a real, playable game. I don't know yet if ill actually go through with it and do that, but ill keep you updated. Meanwhile, works continues at its normal pace on Ivan's Bad Day....... that being me not working on it.....at all.... ever. Sorry to those who are waiting for it (which can't be very many people but still). I've got other things going on right now, like my history day project, and when I get some time to work on it Ill do just that, like spring break or something. Just know that I'm not very commited to it and have no idea when it will be done, other than before the start of the summer. So don't expect any time soon, It might not happen. I've also been busy kinda getting ideas for this summer's big project (like how captain hampton was last summer and actually making this site the year before. I've officially decided what the movie is gonna be, but again, I ain't tellin...
