SUPER HUGE BIG FANTAS(tic/mic) SPAZZATRON THANKSGIVING SPECIAL UPDATE! (of doom)

I hate technology. It's like this blog was never meant to be updated. About a week ago I sat down and wrote a very long update detailing everything I've been neglecting to write about since August, and when I hit preview, the internet decided to eat it. So now, I'm going to attempt to do it again (only probably not quite as long and drawn out). It's been a while, and there's a lot I haven't written about since my last real update, but at this point this is really just for my own personal records. I don't know/care whether anyone actually still reads this, but I'm going to write anyway, and especially now that I'm in a good mood and in the holiday spirit. So here goes.

September

The month pretty much came and went for me. I adjusted to school, met some cool people, discovered the beauty of the Mira Costa breakfast burrito, and did some other stuff. My 18th birthday was on the last day of the month. It was without a doubt my worst birthday yet. No one even sang for me, which isn't that big a deal, but it's at least tradition. No matter. As always I got some stuff out of it. My computer is repaired and all it's modifications have been made with the new parts and such. I also got a gameboy advance sp, which means I've started playing pokemon again, and I am in no way ashamed of that.

October

On the first day of the month I went up to DLR with Ben, and we met Stephanie Shay and one of her friends from school there. Stephanie works at DL, so she got us some hookups, like Fastpass line priveleges without fastpasses. I hadn't ever really talked to Stephanie before then, I had memories of her being kinda weird/creepy, and while being both of those, she was also very nice. So the day went by well, no akward or creepy vibes or anything. That day was opening of Haunted Mansion Holiday (featuring characters from Nightmare Before Christmas), so that was a lot of fun.

Sometime in mid october we had the Vegas trip. The Bussett's were planning on following Kyle to see him perform with RBV at the Vegas BOA tourney, and I (along with Derek, Steve, and Ben) accompanied them. The tourney sounded like fun, but I was really hoping for another chance to see Blue Man group, and luckily that ended up happening (if any Bussetts are reading this, thanks again for allowing that to happen). The show was the friday in which we left, and it was a little crazy trying to get there in time. We did, and we saw the show, and it was great. Everyone seemed like they enjoyed themselves. Ben starting coughing due to laughter, and Derek laughed like a silly little girl during the finale. The finale is very immersive (literally). Sadly, the Blue Man Group eluded me again after the concert, so once again I missed my chance at a picture. Don't ask how, the details are too depressing. To make up for it, I bought an insanely overpriced BMG jacket during a fit of rage mixed with dissapointment. Despite what anyone will try and tell me, I am happy with what I did. I pretty much went through the motions on the saturday, seeing as the band tournament thing was fun, but it wasn't my main draw to the trip. The next day (sunday) we drove home in the morning. I drove home with ben in his truck instead of with everyone else. Everyone stopped at stateline on the way home so we could eat and ride the rollercoaster (Ben and I rode twice). We saw items fly from other people and later recovered them. The drive home was a little crazy/dangerous, but fun. A good weekend overall.

Halloween came at the end of the month, and Laura and I drove up to Hollywood in the afternoon and saw The Nightmare Before Christmas on a giant screen at the El Capitan theatre in downtown. We got the downtwon Hollywood around an hour or so before showtime, so we got a snack and walked around downtown and explored the Kodak Theatre complex and Chinese Theatre area for a while. The movie experience itself was awesome. Before the movie there was an organ player playing classic spooky/villain themed music in Halloween spirit, and ended with his redition of "What's This?" from the movie. We had awesome seats and free soda and popcorn because we bought VIP tickets. They were only $21. A good deal also considering that there was a movie museum set up in the theatre's basement after the movie, and among other things used in the movie, they had on display the actualy graveyard set (the one with the swirly hill) they used in the movie. Seeing the movie on a large screen was incredible. I would definately go back again next year and reccomend it to anyone who is a fan of the movie. I probably will if I can, but most likely not the day of Halloween. We had a really nice night together.

November (I'm nearly caught up I swear)

So now we're into this month. I am finally working now. I started on the 13th of the month, and I work at Edwards theatres. It's been a bit of a task getting used to having a difficult schedule (they are a bit spontaneous when it comes to work schedules), but its fine. I've been working every day each of my weekends, which I'm ok with right now. I get free movie passes, and that's a plus. I'm also finally active again. It's a very physical job, and I haven't been active since the end of my senior marching season (that was a year ago). I'm far too fat. Hopefully that will change.

Today was Thanksgiving. I had work scheduled from 11 to 7, but because of the opening of Kirkorian and that other theater in escondido, it wasn't nearly as busy as they predicted, and they let me off at 4. I called me mom and she said my dad and sisters were at edwards seeing polar express, so I found their theatre and joined them for the rest of the movie. Then I got all of us in to Spongebob Squarepants for free right after. The movie was genius. And the phrase "knucklehead mcspazzatron" is now a permanent part of my vocabulary. GO SEE SPONGEBOB. But yeah, went home and had dinner with the family afterwards. Today went well.

I suppose I should give thanks to some stuff. Hmm...
  • I give thanks to my good friends, without which, I'd be a loner (well, more of a loner). Lists of people are bad because its so easy to leave out people, but you all know who you are. Yes neal, even you.
  • I'd like to thank the In-n-out corporation for not franchising, and thereby still providing me with the best burgers on the planet.
  • Thanks to Edwards for giving me a job.
  • Thank you to the staffs of miceage.com, mouseplanet.com, albinoblacksheep.com, homestarrunner.com, illwillpress.com, westcoaster.net, screamscape.com, ebaumsworld.com, and every other site out there for devoting so much of your lives to making the internet a more interesting place.
  • I'm going to thank Laura because she means so much to me.
  • To everything else that's awesome, including (but not limited to): the Disneyland Resort, the creators of the pokemon video games, AM/PM, funnel cake, warm blankets, and harry potter and the prisoner of azkaban on dvd, I give thanks to you as well.
But WAIT! I'm not done. Just when you thought I've exhausted every method of stretching out a blogger post for no good reason, there's more! Here's some links to some animationsthat have made me laugh over the past few months. Think of it as a reward for still reading for this long.

OK. I'm finished. Seriously. I'll try and keep this thing updated more often. I haven't done anything for the site for a while. I still haven't finished the Jiggly project. I'm just in a slump right now. Eventually I'll finish Jiggly, redesign the site (again), and do the third and final Captain Hampton cartoon, but I'm not sure when. I'd like to bring out my old Girshnelda material and do something with it eventually. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Have a nice holiday or holiday season. I'm going to bed.

People (3 or 4, but still people mind you) have been bugging me to update this site. That's not going to happen right now. So until I feel like adding more content or writing a real update, here's something to read.

"If there's anything which screams "possibilities," it's the trampoline. For example, take any profession. How about Law. Now, imagine an entire court case being carried out on trampolines. Lawyers, judge, jury, the whole shebang. People would sue each other and commit crimes just for the trial, I tell you. So maybe it wouldn't be great for society, but it would be a lot of fun.
Inspired by this thought, I've now decided that if I am ever called to court for whatever reason, I will bring my own trampoline. If anybody else in the room looks at me strangely or dares question my trampolining, I will shoot them. A meaningful stare.
Eventually I'd probably get tired, though. Trials tend to drag out, and trampolining can use a lot of energy. So I'll let other people take turns. After they get used to my hoppity presence, I'm sure they'll be aching for a try. And while they're distracted by the amazing elastic platform of fun, I'll quietly sneak out the front door into FREEDOM.
After all, Freedom, isn't that what America's all about? Freedom. What are you going to do, take my FREEDOM away? No, you can't. Because it's my FREEDOM, and I have a Right to the FREEDOM to have FREEDOM.
But in an utterly depressing ironic twist, it doesn't even sound like a word now. I've abused my Freedom and mutated it into a meaningless couple of syllables.
That phenomenom seems to happen every once in a while, to everyone. You find a word, say it many times, and it doesn't seem like a word anymore, in some odd way. I think people should keep a log of every time that happens. Count how many times you have to say it before it sounds weird. Then, every five years, send your log details into the government. The CIA could have a big database of word information, and we could know which words most commonly lose their meaning, and which words lose their meaning the quickest. We could also keep tabs on people who say "Jihad" a lot, I think that might be of some use." -neil cicierega

I've been kinda neglecting the site this summer. I haven't been very into writing stuff, nor have I been in any kind of mood for animating this summer. Yeah, that means I haven't made a whole of of progress on the jiggly project since the fair. Here's just a message to note that I still have every intention to do stuff for the site still. Just don't feel like it right now.

I started classes at mira costa this week. Seem to be going smoothly so far. I have two awesome classes, an okay one, and one thats insanely boring. But, that's school. Don't ever really have much of a choice there.

Eh... I'm not sure why I started writing tonight. I'm really not up for it. I'm going to go read goblet of fire for a while, then probably go to bed. Just thought I'd let whoever decides to read know this that I'm still alive. Goodnight.

I loved a girl named Sandyface, she lived outside of town
In a tent made of diapers, in the sand she laid face down
She had a pillow of cactus, and her bed was desert land
I suppose they called her Sandyface because her face was covered in sand

And I remember her sandy face
And I remember her sandy smile

That Sandy was the apple of many bloodshot eyes
And one day she fell victim to a sheep in wolf's disguise
They said a man with banana bread and a beehive on his chin
Sold my love to the Grateful Dead, stole her land and then cashed in

There's a one-eyed dog with horns like a yak, wax lips and a broken back
His feet in front face the opposite of his hind legs in the back
He tried to save that sandy girl from the city man disease
But was stung to death by all the pets of the man with the beard of bees

Oh, Sandyface
I do recall
Oh, Sandyface
I could not do it all!

Dr. Rock was on a jog, saw my dear in the parking lot
Selling grilled cheese sandwiches in hippy slavery
Dr. Rock tried to free my love, but he had no gun
So he dialed me collect on 10-10-321
I got the call from Dr. Rock, raced down to the scene
But Sandy had been swept away into the Rainbow Sea

Swim, swim away
Oh, Sandy
Swim so far away from him
Swim far away from this place
Just keep that sand on that face!

But it was too late....

I went back to that stinky place where I first met my Sandy, but
Whitey and his beard of bees had built a Pizza Hut
So I bought a slice in memory, poured sand on the cheese
And as I ate off that sandy plate, I missed my one-eyed dog...

And now it's over
The tide has washed her face
And now it's...

Oh Sandyface...
I do recall
Oh Sandyface
I could not, do it at all...

Not too much to report for as of late. Seen plenty of my laura since last update, and that's good. My cousin, Sebastian, visted last week, so I spent some time with him, seeing as he's going to be sent to Iraq soon. On monday I ventured with him and my sisters to Universal Studios, and did all the new craip they have put in since I went for the Rose Parade. I don't feel like writing full reviews now so here's my opinions of them in a nutshell: Van Helsing:Fortress Dracula- a walkthrough haunted attraction that's mildly scary and will only be appreciated by people who liked the movie; The Revenge of the Mummy- An indoor rollercoaster that could've rivaled Space Mountain had it been at least a minute longer (far too short); Shrek 4D - Suprisingly very, very entertaining, with both the full length films' amount of obscene humor and stabs at disney crammed into 15 minutes (a must see); Spiderman Rocks! - A strange version of Spiderman presented in a rock opera type fashion, with very little actual rock music. You almost feel embarrassed being in the theater, especially during parts like when the green goblin sings "She Bangs" to Mary Jane while flying on his glider. Skip this show.
The day went by pretty well, with less tension between Seb and I as there usually is. Jamba Juice happened there also. Tuesday night I went to the DCI show at qualcomm stadium. I drove Lona, John, and Tye up there, and then split from them at the show to meet up with Laura. The night could/should have been a lot better, but it was still entertaining to watch the shows (first time I had seen any of this season's shows), and I'm glad I got to see Laura. I drove back with the same people I drove up with, and ate at ihop before going home. Wednesday, thursday, and today were mainly uneventful. I bought stuff for school, including my books, and yesterday I saw collateral. Tom Cruise makes an amazing villain type character. Go see the movie, even if only just to see Tom Cruise as a hitman.
I got about a week left before I start classes. I start earlier than most of my friends who are going away because I have a month off school in the winter, so I'm probably going to try to see them more in the coming weeks. And uhh. I'm out of stuff say. Here's a quote from the Shrek 4d show.

"Welcome to Duloc, The Happiest Totalitarian Dictatorship on Earth
(Well... second happiest)
Be sure to visit Duloc's Fairy Tale Adventure! 74 gift shops, and one ride."
Bye.

Monday, August 02, 2004

Last week went pretty smoothly I'd say. I've spent a lot of time swimming and such, and my cousin, Chris, is visting. Monday I hung out with him. On tuesday, I discovered my taillights on my car were out, which jepordized my dlr trip the next day, but I went anyway, seeing as the hotel we stayed at was near walking distance to the parks. Anyway, tuesday and wednesday was my mini vacation with Chris to the Disneyland Resort. Tuesday we did Disneyland, covered most of the rides we wanted to see by 4-5ish, then left to get hotelroom keys and cheap drinks. We returned at about 6, we had fastpasses for splash mountain but it was busted, so we got an early seat for fantasmic and waited the 3 hours. Great show as always. Afterwards we did splash mountain, matterhorn, and then left.

The next day was DCA. California Screamin' was busted all day, which made us both pretty angry, but not much could be done about that. Around midday, we went into millionaire. As luck would have it, I was the fastest on the fastest finger question (my pro random button pushing skillz), and made the hotseat. That was pretty freaking awesome. I only made it to around 8,000 or 16,000, but as soon as I got in the hotseat I realized that it was all really cool and I didn't care how much I won. I ended up winning 7 collectible pins, and a baseball cap. As a strange sidenote, today I read that millionaire will be closing permanently on august 20th. This news came as a shock, both because it was an unexpected anouncement, and that I got in the hotseat just in time before its closure. It must have been fate. But I digress. The rest of the day was fine. I did my 13th ride on Tower of Terror, which for the sake of the ride's themeing seemed like a pretty big deal to me (but of course to no one else). Oh well I had my fun. The performance of Aladdin was very poor, and that was another downside to the day. The flying carpet over the audience never happened, a many of the flying wire effects didn't work either. The show also had the guy playing aladdin who has the voice that sounds like he has a cold, which personally bugged me. The genie was the mediocre genie, and he's big entrance was late. I'm not sure why they didn't just close the show down for the say with so many missing special effects, but it probably had something to do with Calfornia Screamin's closure and the park's lack of attractions. Anyway, we burned out pretty early, at around 4, and went home. A very fun two days.

Saturday, I went with Chris, Pohl, and Ted to see the Aquabats at Soma. I felt a bit out of place at first (maybe it was the fact that I was one of the few there not smoking pot? possibly), but as the concert progressed we all got very into it, except for chris, but he's not really that type of guy anyway. An awesome concert. I'm not going to try to explain- you had to be there.
Yesterday was Sunday, and Laura returned from Europe after 5 weeks. She called me in the evening, and that made me very happy. I should be able to see her on wednesday, if it works out with her. Greatly looking forward to that.

Today I hung out with Lona and John. We saw anchorman (my 4th time, but I really wanted to get out, so I didn't mind), and then ate at chili's. They're too cool for me, I swear.

That should just about do it for now. More of my summer properly documented for future reference. You stay classy San Diego.

Tuesday, July 27, 2004

Alright, now that I feel like writing, here's the details on this past saturday.

At around 3:45 in the afternoon I went around and picked up everyone (pohl, neal, and ben). We listened to blue man group and some aquabats on the way up to costa mesa, and the ride was fun. Got there around 5:45 (hit traffic, had to follow my dad around it on sideroads). My dad and sister's were in another car, and when we got there, they took off. We got to park in a VIP lot, and this, along with everything else that happened that evening aside from food )and rides for my sisters), were all free, via my dad's super chain of connections. So no worries about parking. We all split up to get food, a fried twinkie and a plate of austrailian battered potatoes for me. We ate and then checked ou the visual art exhibits. There were some really good animation entries in the fair. Those were really funny. Didn't see any flash animations though.

Next came the concert. Beforehand, we ran out to the car to grab a bunch of weird al stuff, and then went to the arena. Outside of the areana dr demento was in a booth dj'ing, and we had seen in from the car earlier when we were about to park, but everyone was temporarily star struck to say anything. Anyways, we didn't have to wait in any line to get into the arena seeing as we had special VIP seats. We went in to look for our seats, it turned out that the VIP section were center stage sections of the first 5 rows, and it just so happened that when we got there, no one was sitting in the front row! HELL YES. Ben immediately gave my dad a hug with the words "Sir, I am in awe of your greatness...". Dr. Demento introduced the concert, and it began. The concert was extremely cool. During the song "your horoscope" when he said the line "all virgos are extremely friendly and intelligent", he pointed straight at me and sang "except for YOU". He sang various pickup lines to my sisters during "wanna b ur lovr". The coolest interaction had to be during "Smells Like Nirvana", when during a part of the song he sang with water in his mouth, and when he was finished, he spit the water out at ben, neal, pohl and I (it only hit us 4), and then threw the plastic cup he was drinking from in our directions. Ben caught it, pohl took it and drank the rest of the water from it, and then Ben took it back. The rest of the concert went on great, and it was all hilarious and loud and perfect. Seriously, he was no more than 5 feet away from us.

After the concert was a story in itself. My dad works with a guy who is weird al's first cousin, and because of such, some strings were pulled, and we ended up going backstage. He was sitting at a table and people were getting autographs from him. His cousin person introduced my dad to him and then we all got to take a really cool picture with him. Pohl and I both noticed his hair smelled really good. After that we all got various things signed. Pohl and I both had cd's to get signed, Neal his paper poodle hat, and, Ben? That plastic drinking cup he caught during the concert. Weird Al seemed like a very nice guy. He wasn't all crazy and such like he appears on tv, but he was just very polite. We didn't have much time backstage after that, as technically we really weren't supposed to be there. But we left, got some more food (a cinnamon roll for me), and left, all very hyper and excited like. When the four of us got back in my car, we put in my signed poodle hat cd for one last listen (I'll have to copy it and listen to the copy from now on), and blasted the volume. A VERY awesome, super killer, totally freaking amazing night. Probably won't ever happen again.
It's around midnight, I'm up and bored and not talking to anyone. So, I thought I'd have a go at this (from brytni's journal):

Weird Al in concert. VIP tickets. Front row, center seats. Backstage access. Meeting the man himself. Pictures. Autographs. Wow. Tonight was a DAMN good night. Wow. I'll detail on this tomorrow. Goodnight.
